Really looking forward to it, looks like a good beer to cider ratio. 34:30 ration.

Where can i buy a barrel of the merrylegs cider you had at this years festival. Was bloody lovely and got me steamed!

Merrylegs is a new cider this year from our friend Keith at Orchards cider and perry co in Brockweir near Chepstow. He described Wye Valley Merrylegs abv 6.7% as 'Medium Cider - with a little acidity on the tongue'. The business contact number is 01291 689536 and they have a website http://www.orchardsciderandperry.com/index.htm.

In answer to William's enquiry in March, I am delighted that we have that excellent 'Wye Wobble' back again - see our list of beer and ciders.

Hi William- great that you remember us. I think this is one of Orchards 'specials' that they tend to make up for the summer festivals, maybe its just for us as we know them well but I suspect others get some too
I dont think you will find it around except for the mid-summer months. Have you asked them - the email address is in a banner on the home page www.orchardsciderandperry.com/index.htm

tried wye wobble cider at nailsea and backwell annual beer festival back in 2004. I note it was mentioned in reference to an event in 2008. Is it still possible to get hold of this and, if so, where? thank you.

Hi all. Just to say thank you to all the bands that played at our Nailsea beer festival over the weekend. The weather was kind to us and I would think that we beat last years attendance record, possibly 5000.
The event is now a fixture in a lot of peoples diaries and next year I guess we will beat the record again. The charities will certainly benefit year on year and we hope to give the MS centre a big cheque when we have sorted all the finances out.
Next year we will certainly lobby for a later time to finish, say around 11pm but all depends on the neighbours again and the rugby club committee!
If you would like to play again next year please email back.
Once again a big thank you and please pass this on to your band members.
Kind regards
Glenn Balsam on behalf of the beer festival committee.

From the President Well, we've done it again! Another cracking weekend at the Beer Festival. I would think all targets werre broken and it was the best weather to date. This is just a short note to thank all those on the committee for their hard work and effort and for all those volunteers who rallied round over the weekend to help make it a success. There are too many to name but without them it wouldn't happen. Thanks again and once more NBRFC have come up trumps! (nothing but praise from the public) Well done N Selwood President

I know this is going to be your busiest weekend and hope the weather improves for you. Trying to contact old friends who moved to Nailsea in the mid sixties so could be amongst your oldest supporters, and maybe reading your guestbook. Hope so. Looking for Kathy and Ian Cullingham previously of Slough. Any one who meets them this weekend ask them to send a message thro the guestbook. Have fun!

Boy, this year's festival widened my eyes. Was delighted to be in Newcastle last week and able to (knowledgeably ) order a pint of Mordue. I've joined CAMRA too. Did anyone else?

Just wanna say a huge thank you to Glenn & the Clause 40 guys for the loan of their kit on the Sunday evening & especially the sound crew for hooking us up. It was a big thrill to play in front of such an enthusiastic ( & bolloxed) crowd, already looking forward to next year & the main stage. Thanks again. Bracer - The John Hobbs Project

I have had a good look at the list of beers and I can't believe I can't have a Piddle this year.
It's a disgrace !

You sent who???? You sent who to fetch the beer for the festival?

Please help! If you spot a plump fellow, sometimes answering to the name of Norman, sat on the hard shoulder, of the M6 south bound, just outside of Carlisle, supping beer from the barrel with surprising dexterity please do not approach him?..

Please contact the FAT MAN HELPLINE on Nailsea 01275 810 818.

We will have to pay for those empty barrels. We wont see those again. If we act quickly we may be able to save the Cider!

Will someone think of the Cider!!

Gavin -
No Duff Beer at our festival. But beer-anaoraks like you and Daff may already know that there really was a Duff Beer.
In the mid-1990s, two breweries released their own "Duff Beer" in Australia until legal action by the creators of The Simpsons and the Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. took the beer off the market. Fox has a policy of refusing to licence The Simpson's merchandising for products that would be detrimental to children.
Duff beer is now a collector's item and cases can sell for as much as £410 on eBay
